Accelerator aims to build a well-connected, multi-disciplinary workforce with professional relationships that benefit the people of Dunedin in the future.
Our goal is to achieve excellent outcomes for those we serve, and to do so we need a well-equipped, consistent, and supported workforce. Accelerator partners recognise the importance of collaboration in this effort.
The Integrated Practice Accelerator enhances the workforce by fostering shared language, experience, and connections. This empowers new and new to the area workers to hit the ground running effectively.
15 Weeks of Development
The program involves 1 day/week for 12-15 weeks, with two cohorts per year. Professionals and new grads from different disciplines learn and share experiences, getting to know how Dunedin's services work and connect.
This builds connections within the group and the wider community, promoting a commitment to the entire program. The focus is on Ako, where everyone's knowledge contributes to the group's learning, even if they're experts in a particular area.
Creating Social Service GPs
Accelerator enables participants to work like social services "general practitioners," quickly connecting people to the right services. A well-connected and equipped workforce aims to retain more professionals in the city, addressing an ongoing challenge.
Who’s involved?
Over 30 stakeholder agencies provide time and expertise to support sector professionals and improve outcomes.
Otago Youth Wellness Trust is the fundholder, with eight other agencies overseeing the program: Anglican Family Care, Catholic Social Services, Corstophine Baptist Community Trust, Family Works, Southern Youth Development, The Salvation Army, Synergy Wellness, and Youthline Otago.
